The Sony APS-C V.2 Clip Filter, newly released in 2026.Specifically developed for the Sony A6700 / FX30 / ZV-E10II, it features a brand-new tension-fit design that requires no adhesive base, allowing fast and convenient installation and removal.
Cine Mist Filter delicately handles highlights, providing a natural and subtle softness without excessive effects. It gently brightens the shadow areas, maintaining contrast, and effectively mitigates the overly sharp and harsh feeling introduced by high-resolution digital devices. The result is a naturally soft and clear image, maintaining clarity without blurring, while adding a subtle cinematic quality.
STC filters are built upon our durable Ultra Layer® coating technology. STC Optics is focused on producing the tools so creators can focus on telling their stories in the most difficult shooting environments with zero vignetting menwhile protecting your camera sensor.

All our filters use STC’s exclusive nanocoating technology for the best optical quality. Our Sensor Protector, Star Mist, Cine Mist, Neutral Density (ND),and Astro (light pollution) series filters all carry a double-sided hydrophobic, anti-smudge and antistatic nanocoating to enhance or block transmission in all kinds of particular spectrums.

The STC CineMist Filter features special etching on the lens surface, causing light to undergo subtle changes that soften the image without sacrificing detail and contrast. Commonly used in the Hollywood film industry, it softens landscape and still life photography, creating a vintage lens-like atmosphere.
Primarily used in portrait photography and videography to express dreamy beauty, psychedelic rock aesthetics, or nostalgic storytelling atmospheres. It also optimizes image texture for scenes such as Vlog interviews, personal videos, and commercial livestreams. Using the CineMist Filter offers a "what you see is what you get" effect, directly and physically optimizing the image to reduce post-production workload. It addresses skin blemishes and imperfections early in the process while maintaining clarity in the eyes, hair, and facial contours. At the same time, it gently diffuses bright reflections in areas such as backlit backgrounds, street lamps, neon LED lights, and other highlights. This subtle softening effect gives the overall image a sensual, atmospheric quality. When paired with flash photography, it softens the light, creating a gentle lighting effect.

The new tension-fit design requires no adhesive base, allowing fast and convenient filter installation and removal.
STC’s world-first patented Clip filter now features a bonded lens structure, minimizing overall thickness and weight—so even carrying multiple filters takes virtually no space.
To install, place the camera with the sensor facing upward. Use your index finger to gently support the STC Clip filter from above, guiding it downward along the chamber rails, then lightly press it inward until it clicks into place. Tilt the camera toward your palm to ensure the filter is secure before shooting.
No modifications or settings are required—use your camera just as you normally would.
Sony APS-C V.2 Clip filter never touches the sensor and also serves as a protective barrier. When changing lenses in dusty or sandy environments, it helps prevent debris from striking the sensor and reduces the risk of scratching during sensor cleaning.

Usage scenarios are not limited to portrait creation. When used in landscape photography and environments with direct lighting, the CineMist filter can fully demonstrate its characteristics. Especially when working with diffused light and light overflow, it brings richer light effects to the image. It also reduces the excessive digital sharpness of ultra-high-resolution cameras or lenses without losing detail.

Under the same lighting conditions with fixed exposure settings, photographs were taken using STC clip-in CineMist filters of varying softness levels.
These four photos allow for comparing and discerning changes in direct light sources, reflected light, and diffused light within the scene.

Only one direct light source in the environment has changed, while the ambient and backlighting remain constant. The exposure settings are also fixed.
When shooting with the same softness level of STC clip-in CineMist filter, the intensity of the direct light source will also affect the degree of light diffusion and softening.
Therefore, there is no absolute result when using CineMist filters—you must choose based on the overall light sources of different origins and states!
