Fit, Slim, Hypermagnetic & Vario
After years of rigorous testing, refinement, and extensive user feedback, we've created an unprecedented ultra-thin magnetic filter system that solves the critical flaws of existing market products. Oversized magnetic filters that easily fall off from impacts, incompatibility with original lens hoods—we've tackled these pain points with innovative thinking, achieving a breakthrough design featuring the market's thinnest 2mm single-filter frame.
Rigorously tested with the Canon 15-35mm ultra-wide-angle lens, even our CND three-function filter (dual-layer stack) delivers complete zero vignetting at 15mm, empowering you to capture every expansive vista without compromise.
Unlike other magnetic filter systems that use adapter rings to increase size, STC MagVario's magnetic base ring embeds directly into the lens, achieving complete conformity with the lens diameter without requiring upsizing or adapter rings. This means:
✓ Direct Use of Original Lens Hoods — No sacrifices or compromises, maintain full original functionality
✓ Significantly Reduced Impact and Drop Risk — Flush-fit design with no protrusion, stable and secure
✓ Ultra-Thin, Maximum Light-Gathering Frame — Single filter adds only 2mm thickness; dual-layer stack equivalent to other brands' single layer
✓ Transform Traditional Screw-Mount Filters — Screw the magnetic base ring onto other threaded filters to enjoy the speed and safety of magnetic lens caps (not recommended for ultra-thin frame threaded filters with insufficient edge depth)
Our innovative design requires no additional tools for installing the magnetic base ring—simply use the filter front cap and leverage the super-strong magnetic force for incredibly simple installation.

Each diameter set includes:
15mm Ultra-Wide-Angle Considerations: Ultra-wide-angle lenses at 15mm (full-frame) have light incident angles up to 110°. While installation and shooting without vignetting is possible, polarizing filters cannot achieve correct polarization across the entire field of view (excessive variation in light source angles), resulting in incomplete polarization effects. This is a lens characteristic, not a polarizing film abnormality or product defect, and cannot be grounds for return or exchange.
VND Reference Markings: The 10 ND level reference lines on the CND's rear filter are marked according to optical theory angles. However, due to polarizing film characteristics and laser marking precision at dense positions, minor variations in ND values may occur—this is not a product defect. Always use your camera's metering as the definitive reference.
VND Cross-Pattern Characteristics: First-time VND users must understand the physical cross-pattern characteristics of VNDs and their relationship to lens focal lengths. Cross-patterns cannot be grounds for return or exchange. (Click here for usable range reference by focal length)
Installation Limitations: After installing the dedicated magnetic base ring, you cannot use standard internal pinch lens caps or other threaded filters/adapters. To use other threaded adapter products, you must first remove the magnetic base ring. Our company accepts no liability for damage caused by forced installation without following this guideline.
Handling Care: The ultra-thin frame design requires careful handling. Damage from drops or impacts causing deformation is not covered under warranty. See detailed warranty terms below.
Please read all important notes below before purchasing

✓ Change lens caps and functional filters in seconds
✓ Instantly share resources across same-diameter lenses—maximize efficiency

CPL + CPL = CND three-function filter (this product)
CPL (single CND) + Fixed ND = Ultra-high resolution ND polarizer, such as ND64CPL, ND400CPL, ND1000CPL, etc.
Black Mist/Star Soft/IR + CPL (single CND) = High-resolution polarizer with Black Mist/Star Soft/IR effects (diffusion/soft filters mounted before CPL produce stronger effects; mounting after produces milder effects)
Future-proof: Any new functional filters can freely stack and combine; 2 filters or fewer produce zero vignetting at 15mm regardless of function.
When using products that leverage polarizing film characteristics to alter optical properties—such as CPL, CPL-M, VND, ICELAVA, AQUA Red/Rose—traditional screw-mount filters require damping grease in the frame structure to provide comfortable rotation feel while maintaining stable positioning. Some brands (whether premium or budget) don't use damping grease, resulting in noticeable friction sounds. Grease has fluid properties: when stored tilted to one side, it creates inconsistent resistance (heavier in some areas, lighter in others), and over time may leak. Magnetic structure maintains filter attachment through magnetic force, permanently eliminating damping grease-related issues, though friction sounds during rotation adjustment are unavoidable.
Dual-polarizer adjustment filters with sealed integral structures like VND and ICELAVA can suffer from damping grease leakage affecting photography. The gap between front and rear elements isn't sealed, risking dust or moisture intrusion. All these situations require returning to STC for repair—a process involving complete disassembly of glass elements and positioning adhesive, making work difficult and leaving users temporarily without their product. Magnetic structure allows free separation for cleaning anytime, eliminates damping grease issues, and removes repair waiting hassles entirely.

CND stands for CPL + VND. Why does this product exist? Actually, this concept and product already existed in screw-mount filter versions, but suffered from inconvenient use, increased thickness and size leading to ultra-wide-angle vignetting, and lens hood incompatibility issues. VND variable ND filter structure uses two polarizing films stacked front-to-back. Traditional screw-mount variable ND filters must fix the rear element while only rotating the front element to adjust ND levels. Therefore, if the rear filter can also rotate, it adds CPL functionality. Screw-mount versions thus feature thicker structures and rear filter swing levers, but this creates numerous inconveniences: vignetting on some ultra-wide lenses, bulkier designs when brands upsize to avoid vignetting, and swing lever length typically preventing lens hood installation.
Our extensively developed MagVario system leverages magnetic structure advantages, allowing one VND filter set to create three functions without the problems of screw-mount CND filters. Magnetic force enables tight front-and-rear polarizer attachment while allowing independent or synchronized adjustment. Superior to screw-mount filters, front and rear can separate for individual use as polarizers (both upper and lower elements function independently as polarizers). Therefore, one CND set actually provides: 1 VND, 1 VND-CPL, 2 SHV CPL—a three-function multi-purpose filter with complete original lens hood compatibility, lighter weight, slimmer profile, and superior portability. This is why MagVario pricing offers exceptional value—use it once and you'll understand! (Breaking down CND functionality: purchasing equivalent STC products individually—SHV CPL×2 + VND 2-1024×1 + CPL-M×1 in 82mm diameter totals 18,200 NTD for 4 filters)
Utilizing stackable magnetic design with independent or synchronized front/rear rotation, the CND filter offers three usage modes:
Mode 1: Single CPL Polarizing Filter
Use the rear filter (without logo) alone as a standard 99% SHV high-resolution polarizing filter. (The thinner front filter is less convenient to handle alone, but both front and rear filters can function independently as polarizers)
Mode 2: VND Variable ND Filter
Rotate only the thin front filter (with logo) for ND2-ND1024(-1ev~-10ev) stepless variable neutral density, with reference markings on the rear filter's side edge for corresponding density values. (Click here for VND cross-pattern characteristics reference)
Mode 3: VND-CPL Variable ND Polarizer
First adjust the front filter (with logo) to the desired ND level, then rotate both front + rear filters (without logo) synchronously to achieve polarization with your preset ND value. (For example, freely create a polarizer with -4.7EV light reduction to eliminate water surface reflections while extending shutter speed by 4.7 stops for silky smooth flowing water effects)

Ultra-low reflection is a liquid coating material applied to glass that reduces light reflection interference, minimizing ghosting and flare. However, this coating isn't omnipotent—it partially reduces anti-UV layer effectiveness by 20-30%. With modern camera CMOS manufacturing technology typically including anti-UV layers, CMOS protection remains unaffected. For protecting lens internal OCA adhesive, most situations maintain sufficient protection. Only in specific environments with prolonged, high-intensity shooting of UV light sources should you consider switching to standard UV protection filters.
The MagVario ultra-low reflection protective filter delivers exceptional 0.1% reflectance through advanced coating technology—on par with Nikon's renowned Zero-One AR Coat. Professional-grade clarity for discerning photographers.

The Problem: Reflections Ruin Your Shot
Surface reflections compromise image quality and color accuracy:
The Solution: Selective Light Control
By rotating a polarizing filter, you eliminate light at specific reflection angles, revealing:
The Result: Sharper, clearer images with vibrant, accurate colors and enhanced transparency.

Polarizing film constructed from grating principles naturally reduces exposure value. STC selects premium high-transmission polarizing film with SLC Simulated Linear Spectrum Correction coating technology, achieving only 1 EV exposure reduction while delivering ultra-low color cast and exceptional image quality.
Exclusive Ultra Layer® patented technology produces double-sided anti-reflection coating with reflectance below 0.6%, effectively blocking UV below 395nm that causes image haze and color cast.
To enable the clearest, brightest polarizer shooting in any environment, STC lens quality meets rigorous precision polishing standards of 20/40μm and 3 Newton rings for perfect imaging, with zero bright spots or impurities above 60μm. In the high-megapixel digital camera era—even with 120MP ultra-high resolution and 8K video—imaging remains crisp, sharp, and clear.
STC achieves excellent adhesion with eco-friendly (EU RoHS 2.0 compliant) double-sided nano multi-layer coating providing high water repellency, oil resistance, abrasion resistance, and anti-static properties. Condensation from temperature differentials dissipates in minimal time, greatly enhancing cleaning convenience after contamination.

SHV CPL is developed for 99% polarization functionality needs. Advantages: maximum elimination of object reflections (100% metal reflections cannot be eliminated) and airborne scattered light, plus enhanced overall saturation and contrast (strong sunlight intensification produces slight yellow cast). Disadvantage: clear cloudless skies more easily produce localized color deepening (e.g., portions of sky appearing deep blue to blue-black).
PURE Hybrid CPL represents STC's globally unique film technology, faithfully rendering uniform scenery close to human eye vision. It moderately eliminates localized reflections and airborne scattered light, restoring more scene detail without color cast. Extremely low light reduction makes it ideal as a dual-purpose polarizer/protector for travel photography. Only when stronger reflection elimination is needed should you switch to SHV CPL to achieve 99% effectiveness.
Reflections cannot be recovered through post-processing because sensors cannot record complete information from already overexposed areas. To eliminate reflections, you must use filters for proper pre-capture preparation. Please note this carefully.
