Our second-generation internal Interchangeable Clip (IC) filter series keeps the "one filter to fit them all" concept of the first and makes it even more versatile, with the patented inlay design upgraded to a detachable form. This allows you to quickly swap out and fit the right filter for your shooting conditions.
The IC series gives you all the filters you need for a smaller price while also saving space in your kit bag.

Installation Instructions
Due to varying QC standards across camera brands, even models of the same brand may have manufacturing tolerances. If the internal filter frame doesn't fit properly, please contact STC support or headquarters. Do not force installation.
Disclaimer
STC's Clip-in filters are innovative and rely on the camera's internal structure for stability. Minor marks from installation may occur but do not affect camera functionality or warranty. STC will not cover these marks or offer compensation. Please consider this before purchasing if reselling your camera is a concern.
Frequently Asked Questions
What cameras is this IC clip filter compatible with?
The STC Infrared IC Clip Filter for Nikon Z Series is compatible with Nikon Z5, Z6, Z7, Z6II, Z7II, Z8, and Z9. Please check the Supported Camera & Lens List for the full compatibility list before purchasing.
Do I need to modify my camera to use this filter?
The IR Pass 590nm, 720nm, and 850nm variants are designed for use with modified (IR-converted) cameras. The UV-IR Cut variant can be used with unmodified cameras to block ultraviolet and infrared light for more accurate color reproduction.
Can I swap filters without removing my lens?
Yes. The IC (Interchangeable Clip) filter is installed inside the camera body, between the sensor and the lens mount. You can swap filters without removing the lens, making it fast and convenient in the field.
Will this filter affect autofocus performance?
After mounting the clip filter, your camera's autofocus will automatically adjust to the change in optical axis. No manual calibration is required for most supported camera models.
What is the difference between IR Pass 590nm, 720nm, and 850nm?
The cutoff wavelength determines how much visible light is blocked. 590nm allows some warm tones through for a golden-red effect; 720nm is the most popular choice for classic black-and-white infrared photography; 850nm blocks nearly all visible light for maximum infrared effect with longer exposures.
Is this filter covered by a warranty?
Yes. STC offers the world's first warranty and repair service for clip-in filters. Please contact STC support for details.

Our frames are custom designed for each model of camera and are all made from an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy that is non-magnetic and shock-absorbent. We use CNC machining to make sure the frame fits snugly. An ingenious spring clip fixes the filter in place and you can unclip it with a light touch of your finger. Each filter set comes with a magnetized screwdriver to help you swap out one filter for another.

All our filters use STC’s exclusive nanocoating technology for the best optical quality. Our Sensor Protector, Neutral Density (ND), Astro (light pollution) series, IR-Pass (590nm/720nm/850nm), and UV-IR-Cut filters all carry a double-sided hydrophobic, anti-smudge and antistatic nanocoating to enhance or block transmission in all kinds of particular spectrums.
